Blue Collar Workers

The last few weeks have been some of the most stressful at my job. I finally got a day back at the office today and spent the entire day getting my field notes, time sheets, expense sheets and emails organized and caught up on. Before you know it, it was after 5pm and I never even got a chance to get started on my real work!

I’m really trying to make an effort this week to not stress out about things and just deal with these projects one at a time. Unfortunately, this one just keeps rearing its ugly head and won’t give any room to breathe, let alone focus on any other project. I found myself lying in bed last night, thinking about it and what my next plan of action should be. Too bad, I fell asleep before I had any proper revelations.

. . .

Today was Scott’s first day at his new job. I have been so self-absorbed lately (read: exhausted) that I probably have failed to mention it (eek!). He had an interview a couple of weeks ago and the same day they called him with an offer. After much discussion and assessment of his options he decided to go with the full time, temporary position with a private company out of Shelton. Being the attentive wife that I am, I don’t really understand what he does; something about measuring trees and determining their worth. What I do understand is that he will get a paycheck (score #1) and he will receive credit for his internship (score #2) which is the last requirement before he graduates (score #3).

Now that both of us are out of the house ALL day, I guess we will have to train Isis to clean the house.
