The end of week 28 marks the beginning of the 3rd trimester. Or maybe the 3rd trimester started at the beginning of week 28? Or was it the end of week 27? Either way, I couldn’t be happier to be nearing the end of the pregnancy and beginning whatever is to come.
Week 28 was pleasantly uneventful. Especially in light of week 27 and week 24. This week, I learned that even the smallest amount of fluid in your bladder feels like you could explode at any moment when you have a nearly 3lb fetus constantly jabbing and kicking at it. Ironically, I also learned how increasingly difficult it is to go the bathroom when you can barely bend at the waist to get out of bed, or twist at the waist once you are finally in the bathroom.
This week, I also learned that the extraordinary thigh rubbery I have been increasingly experiencing is not a secondary symptom of the rapid development of the baby during this phase in the pregnancy, but rather is the tragic effect of gaining ELEVEN pounds in 4 weeks!?!!!11.
To accommodate my expanding waist and thighs our growing baby, we purchased a new car this weekend. Several weeks ago we, visited Toys ‘R’ Us to find out whether or not a rear-facing car seat would fit inside the backseat of the Scion xA. Surprising to no one with a 1st grade education, it was just like when I try to stuff my bloated, puffy legs into my prepregnancy pants — freakin’ impossible. Unless we never wanted to travel together as a family we had to find a vehicle that was capable of holding a little more cargo. So, after our prenatal appointment on Friday, we stopped by the dealership and ended up driving out with a stunning Honda CR-V with more bells and whistles than you could even imagine. It even has a little button to make me look less rotund and more voluptuous.
Or not.
T-minus 12 weeks to go. Ohmygod.

I think you look so cute and healthy. I think pregnancy suits you and looooove the Thai Pants.
Hmm…Healthy. Har.
